Muskoka Lakes Association seeking nominees for Board of Directors and Volunteers

If you are a cottager in Muskoka, are a member of the Muskoka Lakes Association (MLA) or want to become one, and have some time, expertise and energy to give, the MLA would like to hear from you.

The MLA has openings on its Board of Directors as well as opportunities for volunteers on four committees: community programs, communications and membership, government and land use and environment.

What makes a good MLA volunteer candidate? You love Muskoka and want to keep it at its best. You are a member in good standing of the MLA (board member requirement). You want to help with the MLA's prime objective of preserving Muskoka.

If interested, provide a brief bio or résumé and a short written piece on why you are a good board candidate for the MLA. Expressions of interest should be sent to by Tuesday, April 23, 2019. All applicants will be acknowledged. Interviews for prospective directors will be scheduled in May.

If you are interested but have questions, email

Elections to the board will occur the evening of July 26 at the annual general meeting.

The MLA's ongoing  activities include tracking and commenting on Muskoka municipal and district council activities, monitoring water quality, educating and communicating with their members and arranging regattas, boat show, bonspiels and more. Check out their website for more details:
