Recognizing the importance of representing the Muskoka story, Don Smith – utilizing his extensive background in publishing – founded Unique Muskoka in response to community encouragement. The inaugural issue was published in July 2016. In 2023, Meghan Taylor, Don’s daughter, assumed responsibility for the magazine’s publication, ensuring the continued accounting of Muskoka’s splendour.
